About St Joseph's Primary School

Ìý

St Joseph’s Primary School, Gloucester is a small Catholic primary school boasting inclusive educationÌý designed to meet the individual learning needs of all students.

The small class sizes are staffed by a very committed team who are dedicated to delivering a quality education.

Staff and students have access to the latest learning technology including iPads, laptops, SMART Boards and video conferencing facilities. This technology gives students access to the wider world and gives them the opportunity to be a part of a virtual classroom where they can build upon their skills with like-minded students in other locations.

Students have the opportunity to showcase their talents and abilities in many local and regional events for creative and performing arts. Students can be a part of the whole school choir who proudly perform in the annual Taree and District Eisteddfod, participate in the bi-annual musical, showcase their art and craft at the local Gloucester Show and local art gallery and receive private tuition in keyboard, guitar, drums or vocals from qualified instructors. Students of all stages also participate in the Diocesan Public Speaking competition and students in Stage 3 have the opportunity to participate in the Diocesan Debating competition.

St Joseph’s offers a variety of sporting opportunities for students and is very proud of the achievements of its Athletes with Disabilities. Weekly sport programs are assisted by Sporting Schools Australia and all students are given opportunities to develop skills in a variety of sports including golf, tennis, hockey, rugby union and take part in the annual swim program.

St Joseph’s Early Birds transition program involves a number of opportunities for students to visit the school and participate in classes and playground activities while parents have the opportunity to socialise, helping to ensure the transition into Kindergarten is a smooth and positive experience.
